Blu-Ray DVD Projector
Getting the Best from the Clubs Blu-Ray & HD Projector
This is basically for members who wish to produce Hi-Definition entries; however the principles can be used for all members of the club.
If members have not got a Blu-Ray Burner but can produce a MPEG2 or Divx Hi-Def file then the clubs Blu-Ray player can still play it.
What you need to do is simply produce a MPEG2/Divx file on your hard drive and then transfer it to a USB memory stick or burn the file onto a DVD
If you have a Blu-Ray Burner then you can simply produce a Blu-Ray disc (either burn once or re-writable) as you do now with a DVD.
The formats that we know will play from the USB stick/DVD are:-
MPEG2
Divx
The formats THAT WE KNOW THAT WILL NOT play are:-
AVI (picture ok, but NO sound)
MPEG4 (including H264)
If members wish to bring any format along to the club meeting, we will try them out and this page will be then updated.
What we are trying to do is streamline the way the evening proceeds, for example, the club has not got a Hi-Def camera to show your video, so you will need to supply the camera and leads to connect into the projector & sound system. If we have 3 or 4 ‘camera’ entries then it will take a long time to set up each unit and test the projection (focus, sound level etc.) before we show the entry to ensure it is projected to the highest standard
To all of our members who enter Std. Def entries on tape, why not try and produce your entry on a memory stick, to transfer your file from the hard drive will only take a minute or so. This will save you time and extra wear and tear on your equipment
ONE LAST THING, TO ALL MEMBERS, FROM A FRUSTRATED PROJECTIONIST, PLEASE MARK YOUR ENTRIES WITH THE FOLLOWING:- TITLE, FORMAT, & if STD. DEF – RATIO
But – I hear you say “how do I mark a memory stick with the required info” answer ‘place the stick in a plastic cash bag with a piece of paper with the info inside or just pop it into an envelope with the details written on the outside’
If any member has any questions or concerns please contact a committee member for guidance
